Burns Scalo Buys Back Premier Southpointe Office Building

PITTSBURGH, PA  Burns Scalo Real Estate announced that it has reacquired, Stealth Technology Center in Southpointe – a 116,000 SF, Class A office building that the firm originally built in 1999 and sold in 2004.

Stealth Technology Center is home to the 15,000 SF Southpointe Health Club, which offers classes, personal training, childcare, locker rooms, and a café. Rounding out the on-site amenities, tenants can enjoy the tenant lounge, complete with putting greens, corn hole, foosball, ping pong, outdoor balconies, meeting areas and vending.

“As is the case in most buildings that we buy, we will perform some significant upgrades to the building, including common areas and exterior gathering places. This purchase is consistent with our value-add approach towards today’s highly-amenitized office demand,” said Jim Scalo, CEO, of Burns Scalo Real Estate.

During its due diligence process, Burns Scalo signed a new lease with Hope Learning Center for 15,000 SF increasing the building’s occupancy to 60% leased. Current availabilities include 4,000-26,000 SF suites with furniture available, 10’-16’ ceiling heights, and loading dock and drive-in access.

The acquisition of Stealth Technology Center comes on the heels of BSRE’s groundbreaking of its new office campus at Diamond Ridge, part of the largest and most exciting mixed-use projects in Western Pennsylvania. The office campus is the cornerstone component of adjacent residential and retail developments plus major infrastructure improvements totaling nearly $250 million.
