Burns Scalo Repositions and Begins Renovation of 225 North Shore Drive

PITTSBURGH, PA – Burns Scalo Real Estate (BSRE) Pittsburgh’s leading privately-owned commercial real estate firm has announced the rebranding and commencement of a series of renovations at 225 North Shore – next to PNC Park and home to the North Shore’s only white table-clothed restaurant, Hyde Park.
As part of the repositioning, BSRE has renamed the property, ‘The Cascade’- an ode to its riverfront location, and to elevate the property’s place in the marketplace. The major renovations include the addition of a first-floor Convive Coffee and a complete lobby renovation, including high-end upgraded finishes, comfortable soft seating, gorgeous placemaking artwork, and an eye-catching freeze-dried moss landscape framing the concierge desk. Both Convive Coffee and the lobby upgrade plan to open in the summer of 2023.

The activity at The Cascade reflects the extraordinary renaissance on the North Shore, coined Pittsburgh’s ‘Entertainment District’. Ultra-premium sports bar Tom’s Watch Bar has committed to more than 7,400 square feet next door to The Cascade. At the same time, Continental Real Estate Companies has begun constructing a six-story mixed-use building with over 100 units planned.
News broke earlier this month regarding plans by HiLife Hospitality to develop and operate a 15,200-square-foot “eatertainment concept,” occupying the first floor of a new six-story mixed-use building and an adjoining 30,000-square-foot outdoor plaza.

Additionally, In March, RDC Design+Build received approval to move forward with its plan to build a 305 units multifamily building with a rooftop bar, lounge, and swimming pool and a proposal for 2,000 square feet of street-level.
