PITTSBURGH, PA — Burns Scalo Real Estate (BSRE), Pittsburgh’s largest private real estate investment firm, has recently closed on 21 acres of land in northern Washington County, signaling its pursuit of high-bay industrial development opportunities.
The acquisition is the first move in a series of land acquisitions for the Beltway Developer as it continues to broaden its investment portfolio – a significant shift for a firm that has traditionally focused on suburban and fringe office development.
CEO of Burns Scalo Real Estate, James Scalo, stated, “We are not changing what we do, we are only adding to it.” He continued, “The evolving market conditions have created an opportunity for us to expand our investment criteria. Our vision is to continue to grow the portfolio in and outside the region.” Scalo added, “We selected a site that provides us with several logistical advantages. The site provides access to multiple modes of transportation to meet the needs of various users expected to migrate to the corridor.”
